My work with CEOs has both a technical aspect focused on the MIT Disciplined Entrepreneur approach coupled with a humanistic flavor of stewardship for people and planet. Some authors refer to this soft side as the soul of a business. Regardless of what you call it, every successful startup culture has aspects of it and this is one of the most significant assets for the CEO and the team to embrace. For example, how does the company give back to the community?
Imagination and creativity are another aspect of the soft side which I address in my work. What is it? How is it valuable and how does a CEO exemplify and steward this in the company culture?
I have borrowed the term Peopleware from Tom DiMarco to address these soft domains and engage them with awareness, empathy and compassion.
Engagements with clients are customized to focus on specific goals and time frames. Popular topics include go to market strategy and validation, funding, team building, strategy for business model, stewardship, culture and scaling.
Adapting to and being resilient in the new Covid/Zoom world is a new mandate for all CEOs.
